Counselling

My approach

I will listen to you with attention and respect helping us both to arrive at a place that clarifies your needs and goals. I will discuss with you openly any implications that may arise so we both gain a thorough understanding of your circumstances and needs. I integrate a variety of proven approaches of which  includes Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Transactional Analysis (TA) to which I have trained and practised in both extensively.

Review

Throughout our work together I will check with you that our sessions remain relevant and inline with your desired outcomes discussing the necessary adjustments where needed.

Confidentiality

Confidentiality within our work promotes a sense of safety, aids disclosure and helps us move towards desired outcomes. As a member of the BACP, I practice within their Ethical Framework.

Working in relationship

Although I remain professional in my approach I bring myself to our work and refrain from concealing myself within the profesional role. I aim to enable the people I work with to become empowered by choice and decision making.

Choice

My priority is always to create a relationship where your choices and decisions can become clearer and connected to your values to help you recognise and articulate what matters to you.

My primary tool is always the dialogue between us. Where appropriate and agreed I offer various techniques and exercises.

Fees

£35.00 per 50 minute appointment.

Additionally

Meetings longer than 50 minutes are charged pro rata per 15 minutes. Invoices for fees can be provided upon request.

Cancellation policy

In principle the full fee is chargeable for any session booked if I receive less than 24 hours notice of cancellation. In practice, I do my best to be flexible, and I prefer to reschedule the cancelled session to a new appointment within the next few days whenever possible.
